I know it’s been a while since my last entry, I’ve been insanely busy. The store as I hope you already know is open! If you have not stopped by yet, you should.

Several subscribers have already signed on with TDS for their comics. We are getting regular shipments from Diamond of new comic books each week. I am working on making our Manga and Trade Paper back selection grow, so keep a close eye for that. It has been said that TDS currently has the best new comic book display around! So if you’re into comics you should come by and check it out.

We are in the process of getting our Wizard Premier Store status and Upper Deck equivalent completed so I can get some real prize support. Until that I will be giving out booster packs for FNM. Our real game room (seating 30 card players with 4 miniature game tables up all the time) is awaiting approval by the Fire Marshal, but we are still trying to run gaming events all the time (upstairs). Namely Magic the Gathering every night of the week. So if you play Magic, come on by and check us out!

I want to take a few lines here to thank a few people for helping me get all this together. Brian I. for putting a fantastic foe finish on the walls giving them the parchment paper look I wanted, Victor P. for building the miniature tables, and putting up the grid on the walls, Barry Y. for some great ideas with the basement, Mike Q. for getting done anything that needed to get done. All b.s. aside these people helped me out a great deal and I would not have opened on time or at all without their help. Thank You!

Well after the loan was approved it was time to go store hunting. I figured it would take me another two weeks to locate a store and another to set it up and open, I have never been so wrong…

I found a store right away that was exactly what I wanted and more! I took a tour of the store and was sold, but the realtor never called me back! Disappointment set it, hard. Over the course of the next few weeks I looked at store after store finding them either out of my price range or again the realtor never called me back. By this point I had walked nearly every street in Downtown West Chester and could not make a deal. Future looked bleak.

Last week I figured I would walk around once again and make sure I didn’t miss anything, I didn’t. Although I did start playing the game of, what would I do with that store front? It amused me and kept my mind off not being open in time for Christmas. During my adventure I found a street I had not been down before, mainly because I though it was all residential. Little did I know when it gets closer to Market Street there were stores. I continued to play my game. I found a children’s clothing store that would have made the absolute best store front for a comic and game store. My misery continued. I checked online the next day to see if anything new had been posted that I missed, there was. That same children’s clothing store with the amazing store front was going out of business! I had not seen it from the inside, so I set up an appointment with the owner and took a peak inside. I started to get excited, next day we signed a lease.

TDS Enterprises Presents Comics & Games now has a home and is slated to be open by the week of December 8th!

This past week I have been inputting more items into the POS (Point of Sale) inventory, mostly Magic the Gathering (Alpha, Beta, Unlimited & 3rd). So that’s coming along nicely. I got a little bit board so I decided to learn how to write html and did. So I’m reworking the main website (www.TDSCNG.com) by myself now, no more Frontpage. For you guys it will look similar but for me completely different. More updates to come as things happen.

Questions about the shop or perhaps interested in investing drop me an email:

I completely finished writing the business plan today. Not polishing the business plan just writing it out. Approximately 2800 comic books have been logged into the inventory which leaves only 17200 comics left to be logged (sigh). I’m running out of bags and boards so I might be doing the Magic the Gathering single collection next.

I will soon be scheduling appointments for anyone interested in investing in TDS Enterprises Presents Comics & Games.

I worked in a card shop for two years before being laid off. It was toward the end of my stay at the card shop that I started to come to the realization that I should open my own shop. That way I could combine two of my favorite hobbies comic books and card games. Thus TDS Enterprises Presents Comics & Games was born.

I started my new entrepreneurial adventure by buying a small comic book collection from a closing store. It was primarily comics that at the time were only about a month or two old. Since then I have purchased several small collections from various friends and associates to help build up an extensive comic book back stock. By the time the store is ready to be open there will be just about 20,000 comic books in our back stock inventory.

Along with carrying a good selection of comic books, both new and old, TDSCNG will also deal with Magic the Gathering singles. Presently I have a nice but small collection gathered together for the store opening and will be doing a great deal of buying and trading the closer we get to opening. In addition to having a great single selection we will also host several Magic the Gathering tournaments and leagues each week for players to face off and test their skills. There will be tables set up all the time in our play area to use when there are not scheduled events.

Magic the Gathering is not the only trading card game we will carry but it will be the headliner. As of right now 4/21/06 we will be carrying Magic the Gathering, Vs. System, Call of Cthulhu, Yu-Gi-Oh, and FullMetal Alchemist. Each of the games listed will have there own tournaments and leagues scheduled just like Magic the Gathering although we may not carry singles for each of the like we will for Magic the Gathering.

Trading cards games won’t be the only gaming presence in the store either. We will carry Warhammer 40k, Warmachine, Flames of War, HeroClix, and Pirates of the Spanish Main miniature games. In addition to normal tournaments and leagues we will also have painting contests, probably quarterly.
